London Mayor turns up to support Korean Eye 'Moon Generation' Contemporary Art Exhibition a showcase of Korea's Premier Artists for the first time on an international scale.
"The Korean Eye initiative will certainly help build cultural relationships between the Olympic cities of Seoul and London..."
Boris Johnson, MAYOR OF LONDON
Boris Johnson, London Mayor attended the Seoul preview of Korean Eye ‘Moon Generation’ at Standard Chartered First Bank’s historical Jeil Branch where a selection of approximately 30 pieces were unveiled. The exhibition brings together a group of leading Korean contemporary artists and galleries to create an international selling exhibition of Korean contemporary art.
The London Mayor took the time out from his C40 Climate Summit commitments in the South Korean capital to view this exciting selection of works.
"'I had no idea how diverse Korean Contemporary Art is. The Korean Eye initiative will certainly help build cultural relationships between the Olympic cities of Seoul and London. I look forward to seeing the entire Exhibition in the Saatchi Gallery in June and supporting future Exhibitions in the run up to 2012" Boris Johnson, MAYOR OF LONDON
After previewing in Seoul, Korean Eye’s Moon Generation will travel to London to be staged at the Saatchi Gallery. The London exhibition will open on June 20 and run through to
July 5.
Korean Eye seeks to create a legacy of Korean contemporary art and the launch of this exhibition in London provides a unique backdrop for education and appreciation for this rapidly developing art scene which until now has had little exposure outside Korea. The accompanying catalogue will feature each of the artist’s works available and will become a definitive point of reference for orean contemporary art.
