

David Ciclitira, Chairman
David is a Blackstone exhibitor and qualified barrister at law and Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art. Prior to the establishment of PMG, David was one of the four original shareholders of Europe’s first satellite television station Satellite Television Plc, (‘SATV’), renamed Sky following the sale in 1983 of 65% of SATV to Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation. David remained with Sky as Deputy Managing Director until the end of 1986 when he left to found the original PMG with Mike Luckwell of Carlton Communications Plc.
During the last 20 years David has promoted over 75 international Golf Events and has been responsible for building the European Tours brand in markets outside Europe especially Asia.
David has also partnered the International Tennis Federation for 6 years, built the Sponsor Village at the Barcelona Olympics, created the Tour of China Cycle Race and Buckler Basketball Challenge, raised significant monies for Formula One Teams, created the current commercial platform for the Italian Rugby Federation and created and subsequently sold a 50% share holding in CNBC Sports in Europe and Asia.
Martin Capstick (Managing Director, PMG Hong Kong)
With over 20 years sales & marketing experience, Martin has worked in the field of Sports Marketing in Asia for the past 12 years. Through his involvement in over 50 golf tournaments throughout 9 different countries, including the promotion of 15 PGA European Tour events, Martin can lay claim to a unique contribution to the development of the professional game in Asia.
Martin has been responsible for the development of one of Asia’s leading tournaments; the UBS Hong Kong Open, and is the creator of the TCL Classic, the first and only Chinese sponsored event on the PGA European Tour.
Stewart Mison (Managing Director, PMG International)
A consultant to IPG owned global communications division, INITIATIVE, where he has helped them to form FUTURE SPORT+ENTERTAINMENT (formally INITIATIVE SPORTS FUTURES) a strategic business unit that advises on brand investments in global sports events. Previously he was at Octagon as Senior Vice President and Divisional Head of Brandcasting responsible for the creation, production and distribution of Advertiser Funded Programming. Stewart’s
background includes tenure at IMG/TWI. After leaving TWI he has been involved in the development, production and sales of music programming, the executive production of a large format light entertainment programme for ITV, international offshore powerboat racing, and film drama financing.
Discussions have taken place with Ken Schofield (former Commissioner of the European Tour) regarding the potential of his joining PMG’s board.
Dougal Christie (Director of Sales)
Dougal has over 8 years experience selling sports sponsorship and advertising, having previously worked at IMG, Octagon, and Sportsworld Media Group. Dougal recently introduced Sony Ericsson into tennis in the largest and comprehensive sponsorship in the history of tennis and Women’s sport: – the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour title sponsorship, covering 62 events in 32 countries. Over his career he has also secured title and associate level sponsorships for: The English and Australian Cricket teams, Premier League and International Football teams, The World Snooker Association, International and Club rugby teams, and European PGA Golf events. Dougal also has extensive experience in perimeter advertising at sporting events throughout the world at both International and club level.
Martin Doherty (Chief Financial Officer)
Martin has 20 years of finance, investment planning and project management experience, most recently having spent four years in finance and business transformation roles with Prudential PLC. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and read for his MBA at London Business School in 1998.
In addition to FTSE 100 company roles with Prudential and Electrocomponents PLC, Martin has worked with small and medium sized businesses in Europe, Middle East and Africa to improve the performance of operations in the multiple sectors.
Martin has worked in Public Practice and Industry and provides PMG with robust financial management, control & Investment appraisal experience aligned to the delivery of business critical project.
Rory Renwick (Director of New Business)
Rory joined PMG in August 2004 having worked for European Tour Productions (“ETP”) for seven years creating a role which was managing a media buying agency that became the largest agency for buying airtime around golf in Europe and looking after 27 brands including Volvo and the Irish Tourist Board. Whilst at ETP Rory was one of 3 Tour Executives who looked after all the commercial and political aspects of all European Tour event programming including commercial affairs, which included sales, marketing and research.
Rory’s role at PMG is to oversee global sales, develop new business and expand any regional business into a global PMG sponsorship deal.
Rory Maxwell (Head of Television)
Rory joined PMG in March 2006 having worked for TWI (media arm of IMG) for 5 years in their UK office as part of their worldwide sales team. Rory helped to oversee the distribution of footage and programming for TV and New Media rights for a number of Federations including the PGA European Tour, the PGA of America, the Le Mans 24 Hour race and the Championships, Wimbledon. Latterly, he worked exclusively as the worldwide Sales Manager for all programming and footage distribution for the FA Premier League, thus overseeing the largest account at TWI for the distribution of non-live rights. He played a major part in growing and developing the revenue streams for the FAPL account, building a close relationship with FAPL Productions, developing new programming and footage sales packages on behalf of the FAPL.
Rory’s role at PMG is to oversee all matters relating to PMG’s television requirements for the properties they own and represent, and to develop the revenues generated from the distribution of PMG’s television rights. This includes distribution of the LET programming and Solheim Cup, the TLA, domestic rights to all of PMG’s PGAET events and the distribution of the FIFPRO awards.
Damian Turner (Head of Events)
After a 7 year career as an emerging market trader in London, he moved to Hong Kong in 1999 to pursue a new challenge in sports marketing and event management with World Sport Group. As a single handicap golfer who started playing golf at nine years old, Damian took on the position of Operations Manager and ran more than 40 Asian Tour and European Tour events. In 2002 he joined World Sport Nimbus as Event Manager overseeing all commercial branding for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003, South Africa. He returned to Asia in 2004 as a consultant to Parallel Media Asia to run the European Tour events between November and April while achieving his commercial helicopter pilots’ license in America. In August 2006 Damian took on the position as Head of Events with Parallel Media Group and is now based back in Hong Kong.
